Welcome to your FHIR instance

To tackle the challenge of finding and accessing biological samples across NIH consortia, this project developed a FHIR aggregator. Its goals were to provide researchers with a comprehensive index of FHIR endpoints, enable identification of relevant samples, and streamline data retrieval through APIs. Inspired by the Cancer Data Aggregator, the team extended its functionality to non-cancer resources using a unified data model. Early surveys revealed strong alignment between the Cancer Data Aggregator and FHIR, requiring minimal transformations.

Since the proposal, the team advanced the project significantly. They built tools to integrate external datasets into FHIR, successfully converting genomic data and incorporating resources like Cellosaurus, a detailed cell line dictionary. These efforts facilitated the mapping of dose-response curves and experimental data, enabling researchers to include richer drug-line experiments in their analyses.

Call to Action: Join us in driving this transformation—explore these tools, contribute to the integration of new datasets, and unlock the potential of FHIR-driven research.
